Jamie Dart has always known that music was destined to become a huge part of her life. Born June 11, 1981 in Oshawa, Ontario, Jamie was fueled creatively by her wonderfully supportive family. It wasn’t until she was about 13 that Jamie realized she had the kind of voice that needed to be shared with the world.

Jamie began entering local singing contests at age 14 including the CNE’s Rising Star Competition, in Toronto. Finishing every year in the top 10, these contests helped her to develop a very solid and comfortable stage presence. In 2000, Jamie entered the Cradle to Rave contest at a local club and came in first, scoring a one-song recording and radio play on KX96. She received critical acclaim for her song “Youth is Wasted on the Young” which was played on KX96 for several months. In March of 2004, Jamie entered Q107’s Ultimate Jam, thrilled, because it was much more her style. Singing “Highway to Hell” by AC/DC, Jamie walked away with first prize and was asked to sit on the judge panel for the continuing rounds, until the contest closed in June 2005.
In 1999, the moment she was legally able to be in a bar, Jamie began hosting a weekly open mic night with another local musician at a club in Oshawa.

After a year, she felt it was time to move on and she hooked up with veteran Toronto musicians, keyboardist/bassist Rocky King and drummer Robin Boers (The Ugly Ducklings), to form the classic rock cover band, Bad Dog & Jamie Dart. Immediately the band began playing steady weekends in clubs around the Greater Toronto area. Currently, Jamie is still playing steadily, every weekend with Bad Dog, continuing to gain live experience, and build a nice, local following.
In April 2004, Jamie hooked up with Toronto based producer Murray Daigle (Cauterize, Not By Choice), of MDS Recording, and began writing songs to independently record her first full-length album “Great Expectations”. The ten song recording was finished early June of 2005 and most recently, Jamie has been working hard to promote it and put out her first single 'Compromise'.
